We have had a wonderful start to the year and the children have really settled well into their new class.
We have started our first whole class reading text - ‘Ruby’s Worry,’ and have been talking about and exploring our emotions.
We are now making worry dolls to share our worries with.
In maths, we have been practising the lifelong skills of sorting and matching by looking for shared features within groups of objects. We have even been practising these skills at tidy up time by sorting the toys into the correct places.
It has been a very creative week and we have been exploring collage in our creative area, where we produced some fabulous pieces of art for our gallery.
This term, we are celebrating sport. We enjoyed learning about some of the Paralympic games medallists and have started to look at how we are also sporting heroes.
I could be prouder of the enthusiastic start the children have had in Reception Class and am very excited for the fun that lies ahead for us this year. Well done, everyone!
