Our Little Learners Are Being Dino-Mite!

It's been a truly wonderful start to our first learning topic in our nursery class! We’ve been so busy exploring, creating, and learning all about how to be a "Care-o-saurus"—a loving, friendly dinosaur who is kind to everyone and everything.

Becoming a Care-o-saurus

Our little dinosaurs have been doing an amazing job learning about what it means to be kind. We’ve been focusing on being good friends, sharing our toys, and looking after our classroom environment. It's been great to see them help each other, tidy up, and treat our toys with care. This week, our friends are truly becoming Care-o-sauruses and were proud to earn their care-o-saurus stickers!

Forest School Adventures

Our outdoor adventures have taken us to the amazing world of Forest School. We've been on a mission to find seeds and talk about how they grow into new plants. Our little explorers have shown such great observation skills and have loved getting their hands in the dirt to see what we can find even if it was a little rainy.

The Wonderful World of Elephants

We recently unwrapped the fantastic story of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. We’ve been so fascinated by Elmer and his colourful world! We've been looking at the different parts of a book, like the front cover and the spine, and have been investigating what makes an elephant, well, an elephant! We created pictures focusing on his long trunk and tusks.

A Rainbow of Learning

Colour has been the star of the show lately! We've dived into a world of colour with a variety of exciting activities. Our little artists have been on colour hunts, searching high and low for different colours in our classroom and outdoor area. We've also enjoyed colourful mark-making, using different tools and materials to create beautiful patterns and pictures. But the most exciting part has been exploring how we can mix different colours together to create new ones—it’s like magic! So far we have created grey for our elephants and experimented with blue and red in large scale mark making to see it blend to create purple.

What's Next?

Our learning journey continues with a new and exciting topic: ourselves and our families! We'll be talking about what makes each of us special and unique, and celebrating our wonderful families. We'll also be getting our sorting hats on as we learn how to sort and match a variety of objects in different ways.

It’s been a fantastic few weeks and we can't wait to see what new discoveries and adventures the rest of the term brings!
