We have had another fabulous two weeks! We have been super busy and are coming to the end of all of our topics but everyone has really impressed me with how focused they have been. I can’t believe we only have two weeks left!
We had a brilliant time watching Shrek the Musical at Halesowen Town Hall! It was clear how hard everyone had worked to practice and the class thoroughly enjoyed watching it!
In English, we have finished our independent writing for our persuasive advert unit. We have had a few fun and exciting lessons creating our very own product and creating a persuasive leaflet to try and persuade people to buy it. We’ve seen lots of exciting products from flavour-changing drinks to shampoo that can change the colour of your hair and even make it grow twice as quickly!
In maths, we have been flying through the last few units! We have explored so many things from Roman numerals to number sequences, coordinates and translation, and we are very close to moving on to our final topic of 3D shapes. Again, everyone has been so focused and engaged in the learning, and this has been a real joy to see!
In science, we have begun looking at renewable and non-renewable energy, focusing on different ways of producing electricity and how this flows around a simple circuit. We have created lots of different circuits using wires, a battery and a light bulb and made predictions as to whether or not we thought the light bulb would light up. I saw some fantastic explanations showing that there was a brilliant understanding of what was needed in a circuit for the components to work.
I can’t believe how quickly the year is coming to an end but I am really proud of how hard everyone is continuing to work! I can’t wait to see what exciting things we are going to get up to over the next two weeks!
