Before half term, our amazing Year 6 students enjoyed a well-deserved treat to celebrate the end of their SATs! We were thrilled to have SH Active visit Tenterfields, bringing a fantastic array of sports and activities.
Here’s what Eli, one of our Year 6 reporters, had to say about the day:
"Hello subscribers, guess what! Today was the best! SH Active came to Tenterfields and brought some exciting sports.
First was lacrosse. You have a net and catch a ball, then you score in a football goal. I scored two goals, but it was not a popular sport – really tricky.
Next, we did zorbing! A giant ball was put over our head and body. When we were in, the guide pushed us. When you weren't in the zorb, you got to push the people in the zorbs over.
Afterwards, we had a Nerf war. It was thrilling and exciting. Joey said, 'This is brilliant!' I loved it too, but zorbing was even better. What a day!"
Beyond the fun and games, Year 6 has been incredibly busy honing their writing skills. We've tackled a variety of genres, including writing Non-chronological reports: We delved into our imaginations to create fictional creatures, giving them unique and very creative healing properties! We have sent letters to Year 5 about SATs: Our students penned thoughtful letters to the upcoming Year 5 cohort, aiming to ease their minds about SATs and Year 6 in general. The letters were full of excellent advice, such as "work hard but remember to do the things you love," "put 100% effort into everything," and "make the most of any booster sessions.". We have also had balanced arguments about graffiti: This topic sparked lively debate in our classroom, as it truly divided opinions! We'd love to hear your thoughts on graffiti too.
