20th December 2024
It’s hard to believe, but we’ve made it to the final week before Christmas! This term has been full of exciting learning, festive preparations, and lots of fun.
This week, Year 2 has been getting into the Christmas spirit with a variety of festive-themed activities. We have been working hard on their Christmas crafts, creating beautiful decorations and cards that will make their homes feel extra special. It’s been wonderful to see their creativity shine through!
We have thoroughly enjoyed this festive week filled with games, treats, and a special trip to Santa in the igloo followed by some hot chocolate around a campfire, singing Christmas songs!
In our English lessons we have been writing our very own postcards! Our postcards have been sent to our family from us in the North Pole! We began by planning out their plot points, drawing a picture for each event before planning a sentence for each of their plot points. They then began their independent writing. We have loved this writing and have really shown our creativity!
In our Maths lessons we have been looking at column addition with two two digit numbers. We have made so much progress already with this! Next term we'll be looking at time. It would be fantastic if you could start talking to your little ones about time at home beforehand!
I cannot believe we have already completed a term of year 2. The children have settled in wonderfully and have worked so hard. I know they will continue to work really hard going into next term. Enjoy your Christmas break. I hope you have a wonderful break and Santa brings you some lovely presents. See you all in 2025!
