6th November 2024
At Tenterfields Primary Academy, weβre excited to take part in Anti-Bullying Week 2024 from Monday 11th November to Friday 15th November.
This yearβs theme, Choose Respect, encourages us all to embrace kindness and celebrate each other's unique qualities.
A special highlight of the week is Odd Socks Day, taking place on Tuesday 12th November. On this day, children and adults alike are invited to wear odd socks as a fun way to celebrate what makes each of us unique. It's a simple but powerful reminder that our differences make us special, and everyone deserves respect. If wearing odd socks isnβt your style, why not pin an odd sock to your uniform to show your support in another way?
The campaign is officially organized by the Anti-Bullying Alliance across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with special support from Andy Day, the CBBC and CBeebies star and patron of the Alliance. Andy and his band, Andy and the Odd Socks, will kick off the week with a lively new video for their song 'Choose Respect' βperfect for reminding us all of the importance of kindness and acceptance.
Anti-Bullying Week is a national UK initiative held in the third week of November each year. Since its founding in 2002, the event has grown into a vital opportunity for schools and communities to raise awareness, prevent bullying, and offer practical guidance for how we can all make a positive difference.
This week provides an important reminder of the positive impact we can have on each other's lives by standing up against bullying and promoting a culture of respect. Itβs a chance to support our students in developing empathy, understanding, and a commitment to inclusivity that will last a lifetime.
We look forward to seeing our Tenterfields Primary community come together to celebrate our uniqueness and show our support. Remember to bring your odd socks on Tuesday 12th November and join us in celebrating the power of respect and kindness!
